Antique Japanese screen-painting in sumi, colors, gesso (moriage), flecks of gold leaf (sunago) on silver leaf (ginpaku) applied paper, depicting chrysanthemums (kiku) growing on bamboo trellises beside a meandering shoreline; the scene punctuated by a brushwood fence (shibagaki) and framed at top and bottom by banks of clouds; a detail mounted in two panel format (byōbu) with paper hinges, textile border and wooden molding.
